Goodbye Snow, Hello Rain

Good Afternoon,

It appears that the snow has melted to puddles of water. Lots of them. Puddles and mud, everywhere - and the joy of jumping in them with wellington boots is long gone, sadly. But the sky has turned blue again, so that's alright. I went for another walk, with the dog this time (instead of my umberella) and across the beach - I'm glad I did.

For most of the time everything on the walk was perfectly normal, lovely, but normal. I took a few pictures - the quality of which seem to be deteriorating fast - chatted to the dog (I've been doing this an awful lot lately, maybe I'm going mad? I swear he can understand me) who was behaving very well, in fact I think I'm beginning to become his genuine pal. I guess the sea was the highlight of the day - that and not having to do football because of the waterlogged field. It wasn't its usual dull blue colour, instead a silver-white, with splashes of beautiful light blue. I'd only ever seen it that nice once before, about a year ago, from a far distance up near the pagoda on the island in the park. It looked so fragile, so calm, so still - so peaceful. It didn't flinch or rage where the jagged brown rocks tore through its surface - truly wonderful. To most, it would seem like nothing special, but I have lived here all my life, and a beautiful sight like that can be very rare.

Snow!

Hey,

The snow has arrived! I mentioned snow and hail in the previous item but I had no idea that it was going to be a long-term thing (long-term as in a day).

Sadly I had to go to school and missed out on such childhood past-times as sledging, snowball-throwing and building a snowman to which I would donate all my hats, gloves and scarves. A shame, too, as I coud have spent the day taking some simply excellent photos. But no, I had to go to school. It snowed, rained and hailed almost all day but because of a really lame thing call 'Health & Safety' we could not go outside.

By the time I got home from school (slightly damp from a few snowballs - or should I say slushballs) it was 4 o'clock, the snow was melting, it was getting dark and raining heavily. But to no avail, I grabbed my phone and umberella, and set out on a half-hour walk aroud the park - to try and catch the last of the snow on camera. I will do the same thing tomorrow - promising it snows. Though maybe I shall take my bike so I can get down to the beach. The park was completely empty, except for a small family of ducks and a rather large crowd of muddy geese (some of them were actually half-duck, half-goose - if that's possible). My umberella was rather useless (It was from New Look) and it kept turning itself inside out against the strong winds. Everytime I put it right again I got yet another hole in my mittens. But I wandered around the park in search of some decent photos, most of which were blurry as there was rain on the screen and I was also fighting in a never-ending battle with my umberella. After 20 minutes I retreated, and went home for tea. I have posted up the better few of my photos at the end of the post. I have also added a photo of Toffee in the snow from last November.

Well, then...

Oh, what a day it has been!

CuteKitten and I did indeed go for a dog walk. We went down to the pub with the dog, and got some chips and lemonade. Guess what? It was snowing! A fancy start to the month. Afterwards we walked back to where we had started and went in the complete different direction (I took some photos on my phone which I will post up). It was beginning to hail as we walked around the cliff, and if got colder and windier as we went on, until it was unbearable. I mean really, really terrible - the worst weather I seen for a long time - in fact, quite possibly, ever. The dog was shivering, CuteKitten was moaning, and, to be honest, I think they would have turned back if it wasn't for my constant reassurance and will to keep on going (I do hope that doesn't sound arrogant). By the time we'd reached a fair destination, CuteKitten had moaned enough and I finally gave in and rang Dad to collect us. I sat in a very uncomfortable squatting position for ten minutes behind a bin, hugging the dog on my knee to keep him warm, whilst CuteKitten kept a lookout - although she didn't actually know what Dad's car looked like. When I was about to get up and return to my original preferred plan, Dad and Mum finally turned up. Apparently they had been looking at laminate flooring (for the kitchen in the house they're going to decorate and rent out) in B&Q and had got stuck at some traffic lights - they seem to be everywhere these days. We were bought chips and icecream, which would have sort of made up for it if I hadn't been the one who hadn't had to keep running back and forth handing out chips.

When we finally got back to my house, after I had changed my jeans - the dog had made them damp - we settled down by the fire and watched Bambi (it was about 3 o' clock). Then afterwards we made giant chocolate chip cookies (yum yum).

CuteKitten went home for tea and I had spaghetti & parmesian cheese with hot buttered bread and orange juice. I would have eaten my cookie but I had already ate way too much, so I came on here instead.

G' Morning

Good Morning Everyone,

I sure hope you slept well, 'cause I sure didn't. Got woken up at 6am due to the seagulls making a very irrititating racket over and over again, and an hour later, I was woken again by Duffy's song 'Mercy' - how ironic - on my brother's radio alarm. Only managed to eat a rather mushy bowl of Honey Nut Shredded Wheat as it was almost all gone, meaning a lot of tiny nuts fell out, and, once the milk was poured, created the 'mush'. I made a start on Malorie Blackman's 'Knife Edge' as no one was awake yet (typical Sunday morning) before CuteKitten rang. Mum finally blundered downstairs followed eagerly by the dog who refused to give me a good morning lick, which was a shame - he tends to always give me loads when I don't want them.

To be honest, I don't have a clue what I am going to do today? Morning walk along the beach? Chips and Lemonade at the pub? Lemon Twist Ice Cream? Buy something at the Shell Shop? All of those packed into a three-hour dog walk? Probably.
